It's Been a Long Time...

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost a year!  Wow, that is terrible.....I haven't done much since I have been so busy with our new little guy.  I did take my first weekend away last month and did a lot of scrapbooking.  Below is one page I made, I will post more later....this was taken with my phone, so it isn't the best quality.

Down on The Farm

I made a scrapbook page layout that I can use when our kiddo goes down to Grandma and Grandpa's farm.  It's so cute!  I just love the COWS!!!

Mother's Day Card

Below is the card I made for our Mother's for Mother's Day.  I used the "Create-A-Critter" Cricut Cartridge and Stampin Up Paper......I just LOVE that cartrige, it makes such cute stuff!

Thank You Cards!

I have two baby showers coming up in May so I thought I would make some Thank You cards.  Last night I worked on the card below.  So cute!  Our nursery theme and the theme to at least one of our showers is "safari" so I thought these would go nice.

Wash Cloths

So when I registered for baby things, I noticed that the wash cloths at the stores were not very cute.  I had dinner with some girls from the quilt shop the other day and one told me how she made her own.  What a great idea, I just used some scraps that I had and bought a half of a yard of terry cloth for $1.50.  I made the 3 wash cloths below last night.  I think they are cute and took me about 30 minutes to make!

Nursery Pics!!!

We have finished our nursery and I absolutely LOVE it!!!  It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be to paint the dark brown stripe in the middle.  I love the colors and the way it turned out.

Sew a Wet Bag

I have been looking at some DIY Mom's Websites lately and I found this cute "wet bag" pattern.  I’ve always thought that wet bags were only handy for cloth diapering mommies (which they are), but I’ve heard they’re a great addition to a diaper bag. They can be used for food, dirty clothes, wet clothes, spoons, bibs…. you name it.  I stopped at Joann and bought some vinyl for the inside, but I used scraps that I had for the outside and a zipper I had as well.  This was my first experience with a zipper outside of a sewing class and I think I did pretty good!  The bag is about 11.5in by 11.5in, perfect!  I love it!

Pacifier Clip

I saw this cute pacifier clip on etsy.com and thought....I could make that!
So, I threw one together last night.  I used ribbon on this one, but I will use fabric on my next one.  Enjoy!

Knitting!!!

My mom taught me how to knit this past winter and I made this cute infant hat thinking my sister-in-law was going to have a girl.  However, she was blessed with another little boy, who is ADOREABLE!!!  I really like this hat and hope one of my friends has a girl sometime this winter so I can give it to them.

Snowed In.....AGAIN!

So yesterday we had another 10 inches of snow and we were snowed in. I decided it would be a good day to sew. I made some burp cloths and a 2 Safari Receiving Blankets.....1 for a boy and 1 for a girl since we don't what we are having! They are so cute!

Knitting here I come!!!

So over the past couple of weeks I have seen some REALLY cute knitted baby blankets and hats.  This past weekend I asked my mom to bring her knitting supplies over and refresh my memory.  We then travelled to the craft store and bought some cute yarn and I started my first project.  I should be done in the next couple of days.....so hopefully pictures are coming soon!

1st Sewing Class of the Fall!!

So tonight I have my 2nd sewing class in a series of 6 and we are making the Amy Butler Weekender Bag.  It is a fantastic bag and I just love it.  It will definitely be a challenge, but I am up for it!  This is the bag, but mine will be a different fabric, I chose a black, tan and brown swirl fabric.  I can't wait till I can use it!!!!!

Beerings!!!

A friend of mine started making these and sells them for $5......they are so CUTE!!!  These would have been PERFECT for WeFest!  These earrings are hand made from real beer bottle caps, she makes several different kinds and custom makes your favorite "flavor"!  How fun are these!  http://www.beerings.ecrater.com/

Oh Baby!!!

So......it is baby central in my life right now!  One of my best friends just had a baby on August 15th along with the guy who sits next to me at work.  It was time for me to make some baby blankets for all these new parents and their little ones!  We also have some friends who are pregnant so I will be making some extra blankets to prepare.  These are made out of two coordinating flannel prints and are so nice and cuddly soft!  The babies will love them!!

Butterfly Request

So I had a request to make a butterfly purse for a friend I met through splitcoast.  I had a hard time finding butterfly fabric that didn't look too juvenile.  I was excited when I found the fabric below because she also likes daisies and this has both on it.  I REALLY hope she likes it!  :-)

Happy Birthday to my Sis!

It was my sister's bday on July 22nd and I decided to make her this wall hanging.  The 3 squares with words on them are quotes about how important sisters are.  It turned out REALLY great and I absolutley LOVE IT!  I had it quilted at Fat Quarter Quilting in Coon Rapids, they are fantastic there!  :-)
