1st Sewing Class of the Fall!!

So tonight I have my 2nd sewing class in a series of 6 and we are making the Amy Butler Weekender Bag.  It is a fantastic bag and I just love it.  It will definitely be a challenge, but I am up for it!  This is the bag, but mine will be a different fabric, I chose a black, tan and brown swirl fabric.  I can't wait till I can use it!!!!!

A friend of mine started making these and sells them for $5......they are so CUTE!!!  These would have been PERFECT for WeFest!  These earrings are hand made from real beer bottle caps, she makes several different kinds and custom makes your favorite "flavor"!  How fun are these!

Oh Baby!!! is baby central in my life right now!  One of my best friends just had a baby on August 15th along with the guy who sits next to me at work.  It was time for me to make some baby blankets for all these new parents and their little ones!  We also have some friends who are pregnant so I will be making some extra blankets to prepare.  These are made out of two coordinating flannel prints and are so nice and cuddly soft!  The babies will love them!!

Butterfly Request

So I had a request to make a butterfly purse for a friend I met through splitcoast.  I had a hard time finding butterfly fabric that didn't look too juvenile.  I was excited when I found the fabric below because she also likes daisies and this has both on it.  I REALLY hope she likes it!  :-)

Happy Birthday to my Sis!

It was my sister's bday on July 22nd and I decided to make her this wall hanging.  The 3 squares with words on them are quotes about how important sisters are.  It turned out REALLY great and I absolutley LOVE IT!  I had it quilted at Fat Quarter Quilting in Coon Rapids, they are fantastic there!  :-)

Scrapbook Page Swap

I joined a swap on Splitcoast where each participant sends 6-10 pictures to another person and that person makes pages for you and sends them back.  Below are the pages that I made for another scrapper.  There was a required theme of "stars and stripes".  Enoy!

My 1st Article of Clothing!!!!!

Ok, so I was at JoAnn's and they had all their sewing patterns on sale for $1.  I thought....hey, this would be a good time to try to make a skirt.  That way if I didn't succeed, I didn't lose a lot of money right.  So I bought the fabric and went to it.  I had some trouble with the hem because of the shape of the skirt, but with some help and pointers from my wonderful MIL, we were able to get it done.  I am wearing it to work today!  I really like it and I am so proud that I made it!!!  :-o

Summer Table Runner

I made this fun "summerish" table runner for myself.  I just love the big daisies and it turned out great!!  I wasn't too sure on the fabrics prior to sewing together, but I think it looks perfect for summer!  I will think twice about using stripes in the future as it was a challenge to get them to line up.  :-)

Happy Birthday Sheila!

A good friend of mine celebrated her birthday recently so I decided to make her a bag.  Unfortunately, I liked it so much I wanted to keep it.....but I didn't.  Isn't it great!  I found some new polka dot fabric for the sash and it looks wonderful!

My Summer Bag

Well after making all these bags for others, I decided it was time to make myself a new summer bag!  As you all know, I am a big fan of pink!  I LOVE IT!!!

Fishing Opener Widows

My mom and I were pondering what to do while our husbands were on the lake fishing last weekend.  Last Christmas I received some very cool coasters so I searched the web to learn how to make them and that is what we did last Saturday.  The pictures are below, we really like them!  What a perfect gift for a teacher or co-worker......I think I will be making many more of these in the upcoming months!

Wild Orders

I had a couple people request a "wilder" pattern.  It is hard to pick out patterns that other people will like.  I picked out this fabric last Friday and made these two "wilder" bags over the weekend while my better half was fishing.  I must have done alright because the two ladies loved them!  :-)

Welcome Sienna Leigh!

My friend Lauren had a baby girl last week so I made her this baby blanket last night.  I am mailing it to her with a cute little outfit and a pink bib that says "spoiled" in sequins!  The flowers are flannel and the pink is the SUPER soft minky fabric.  I hope she loves it!
